Grant will allow Virginia Credit Union to provide financial education course to youngsters

Young people in foster care in Virginia will get a boost in financial education and the opportunity to start saving, thanks to a new program from Virginia Credit Union and the National Credit Union Foundation. VACU has been awarded a ,000 grant from the foundation to offer its six-week Financial Education for LIFE program to older youth in foster care. The program will be offered in-person in Richmond and Lynchburg and virtually, with a goal of reaching 30 participants (mostly between the ages of 15 and 19).
