'Clear the Shelter!' event results in 25 pets being adopted from Henrico Animal Shelter

The Henrico County Animal Shelter hosted its "Clear the Shelter!" pet adoption event Aug. 10, and 25 pets found their forever homes that day. More than 20 volunteers from the Henrico Humane Society, the William A. Harrison, Jr. Foundation and other local organizations assisted with the six-hour event, which included the placement of dogs, cats, and one guinea pig in their new homes. All adoption fees were waived for the pets, and potential adopters were presented with a wide variety of breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities to choose from.
