Wittman's bill to support veterans advances in U.S. House committee
Legislation to establish a pilot program that would improve veterans’ access to disability compensation and legal assistance services is moving forward, according to the office of its sponsor, Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA-1st District). The Veterans Collaboration Act passed the House Veterans Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity and now will be considered by the full committee. If ultimately passed by Congress, the measure would create a pilot program at the Department of Veterans Affairs to help qualified veterans service organizations collaborate with educational institutions to help veterans file disability compensation claims and appeals.
