Henrico, state both witness drop in unemployment rate in April

Henrico's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 2.3% in April, while Virginia's statewide rate fell to 2.8%, according to new data. Henrico's rate was down from 2.5% in March and from 2.4% last April. The state's rate was 0.1 percentage point lower than the previous month and 1.1 points lower than the national rate. In Henrico, only 4,448 people who were actively seeking work in April were unable to find it, down from 4,768 in March and 4,615 in April 2023.
