Autism Society of Central Virginia raises nearly $180k during 5k, family fun day event

Despite soggy weather, more than 1,000 people participated in the Autism Society of Central Virginia's 5K & Family Fun Day event May 18 at Crump Park in Glen Allen, helping to raise nearly 0,000 that the organization will use to expand its programs and services. The event included two sensory zones and a kids' zone and featured a 5k race as well. Ninety teams of friends, families and colleagues raised more than 0,000 for the organization through their networks. The top overall team fundraiser was Team bELIeve, which raised nearly ,500.
